ELMO 8MM WITH 1000 W XENON LAMP

Elmo 8 mm xenon 1000!

I had always believed that the most powerful cinema projectors in the world were the Fumeo 9145 xenon 500  (in its portable and pedestal versions). Last night, reading a British film magazine from 1964, I discovered that Elmo introduced xenon projectors for 8 mm, pedestal, with 500W and 1000 W xenon lamps that same year.

My friend Erkan Umut keeps a catalog of this Elmo projector in its 500 W xenon version but he never saw the 1000 W one. Does that mean that the 1000 xenon version was never made?

In any case, before Elmo, in 1960, as my friend Klaus Schereier reminds me, the French firm Ercsam had a Malex was the first one in the world with a xenon projector for 8mm, a model with 150 W xenon lamp, that, although it did not have a reflector, made it possible for the UNICA film festival of that year the projection of 8 mm films on a screen with a base of 4 meters at a distance of 21 meters, as stated in the Spanish magazine "Otro Cine" digitized by the Filmoteca de Catalunya (light output with this 150 W xenon lamp for 8 mm was the same than an 16 mm projector with a tungsten 1000 W lamp).
