EUMIG NAUTICA 24 F.P.S. IS DEAD: IS IT A JOB FOR THE SURGEON OR FOR THE FORENSIC? (part 1 of 3)

My special Eumig Nautica for 24 f.p.s. has stopped working after forty years of use in my summer dives. What has happened?

At the moment, to find out, he is undergoing surgery. We'll see if it can be fixed or if it's a forensic issue.

The Eumig Nautica underwater camera is easy to repair as its entire front assembly can be removed with less than an hour of work. What have I found so far?

On the trigger, the mechanism has a kind of rust, like verdigris, and, in addition, it is stuck: it does not return to its normal position.

It should be clarified that this trigger was modified 40 years ago, after its conversion to 24 f.p.s. by Videosonic, the Spanish importer, being locked or disconnected with the old frame-by-frame command.
