KODAK EKTACHROME: SUPER-8 FOR THE 21st CENTURY.
This 2018 is historical, in the world of argentic photo
technology, since Kodak presents in the world market the first
reversal colour emulsion developed in the 21st century: the
all-new Kodak Ektachrome 100. One of the Trojan horses for its
introduction is the Super-8 format, invented by Kodak itself in
1965, although the new Ektachrome will be also available, initially,
as 16 mm film and 35 mm slides too. The reversal emulsion is one
that, once processed, becomes a unique positive for its editing,
its direct projection or its scanning.
The fact that the new Ektachrome emulsion is presented in
Super-8 causes international astonishment, even in the general
press, because many thought that the Super-8 no longer existed;
there are young creators who never got to know.
The Super-8
Ektachrome in the digital era, is it a creative alternative? Can
you make money with the Super-8? Can Kodak recover the millions
of euros invested in the development? The answer to all the
questions very soon in the German magazine Photo Klassic.
