FUJICHROME SINGLE 8 SOUND: THANKS, JOERI!

Alex was 2 or 3 years old only  when Fujifilm, following in the footsteps set by Kodak the previous year, in 1998 stopped producing the  Fujichrome "sound" Single-8 film and, also, Single 8 pre striped films (in silent cartridge but with magnetic tracks).
The cessation of the production of the pre striped film in silent cartridges was no drama as many enthusiasts continued to use the same method as always: paste striping after the processing,  a service that Fujifilm laboratories in Tokyo maintained until 2013.
But the discontinuation of the "sound" film, for direct sound recording in the same film,  was really a loss, especially for family films, in which it was a nuisance to go with professional synchronism systems as the Puls Sync (or others).
With  "sound" film was possible to record the live sound directly on the film itself. This, although a little complicated at the time of editing, due to the famous 18-frame offset or "decalage", in practice it was not a problem for family films where editing, if any, was not very complex. In addition, in certain cases, such professional shooting of weddings, if it were, everything was reduced in not leaving dialogue in the first second of each shot.
Alex, in HAL 9000, with the "sound" film

FUJICA Z850.
Alex has long since fallen in love with the Fujica Z850 Sound camera,  which was Fujifilm's last direct sound model:  quiet, well-finished, with electromagnetic frame-by-frame trigger, motorized flywheel, lap dissolves in camera, rewinding and iris diaphragm.
But unfortunately, he was never able to test its recording capacity until now, when, thanks to the Belgian filmmaker Joeri de Jongh, a keen member of Super 8mm group (the largest in Facebook, with more than 7.000 enthusiasts!; link:   https://www.facebook.com/groups/27648968851/ , he got several unopened Fujichrome "sound" cartridges from the last batch manufactured, stored in a fridge since new!
With film from that same batch, I shoot, in 1998, various family scenes, like this one, in which those who are from my city, La Coruña, will be surprised to see the Los Rosales neighborhood with hardly any buildings (and my little son Daniel!

Many, many years after, already in this Century,  the "direct" sound system in the film itself had, in Spain, a brief and historic revival when the Andalusian entrepreneur Angel Caro released fresh Kodak Ektachrome film prestriped in a dark room in Single-8 Fujifilm sound cartridges cartridges, which I had the honor of testing in 2011:
