My 16mm tipe S perforation Bolex Ultrapan camera for 3.1 format, built in Canada by Jean Louis Seguin, is one of only three for this widescreen format in the world and the only one in Europe (another is owned by Phil Vigeant, the well respected member of the ASC in Hollywood and owner of famous Pro 8mm company, and the other one by format inventor Nick Kovats)
Using the 16mm with S-perforation film, kindly provided by the director of Kodak's film division, I intended to shoot my third feature film on global warming, ALÉN DA FIN DO MUNDO, in this rare format.
As we expected to have support of AGADIC, in Galicia, and I had ordered an accessory for this camera, which arrived today from Canada: the mechanical-electronic intervalometer built by Stephen Bonnell. Unfortunately, AGADIC's support did not come true, so, with less budget, I have to travel alone and I cannot carry the enormous weight of the Ultrapan devices. It will remain in IB Cinema to be used in some other future project, perhaps one of those of "communist" ideology that the AGADIC mob likes. "Alén da Fin do Mundo" will be shot in S8 with Iscorama anamorphics.
