ISCORAMA 2000: ANAMORPHIC PROJECTION LENS FOR 2:1 FORMAT

The 2: 1 anamorphic format is very pleasant for the ciné shows, because he is very similar to commercial 1.85: 1 format, used in the theatres for the called  Widescreen films.
The Iscorama anamorphic lens systems  is made up of three lenses:
  • Iscorama 54,
  • Iscorama 42, and
  • Iscorama 36. The number given after the name indicates the diameter in millimeters of the back thread mount, to fit the anamorphic directly to the camera lens or by means of a ring adapter: thus, Iscorama 54 has a back thread mount of 54 millimeters.

A special projection lens: Iscorama 2000.
The three  previously described lenses are conceived mainly for its use for the filmmaker, but they can also be used for  projection also. Nevertheless, to project, I prefer to use a lens specifically conceived by the Isco engineers for this purpose: the Iscorama 2000, that fits perfectly to the anamorphic holder  of my Fumeo amd Beaulieu projectors.
The Iscorama 2000 was presented in 1983, when the super8 already was touched of death. Its quality is equal to the rest of the Isco lenses, but a lot cheaper in those times, because it lacks of focus system, since this lens was conceived to focus with the projector lens.
  • The Bible about the Iscorama system, with technical data (weight, focusing distances, etc), in my article  published in currently issue of  https://silvergrainclassics.com/en/  , now on sale!
